If you or someone you know is being abused, LIVES OUTSIDE NEW YORK CITY’S FIVE BOROUGHS, and seeks placement in an emergency domestic violence shelter (or you seek other domestic violence intervention services) in order to escape domestic abuse, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for assistance. (More than 100 languages are spoken!)

If you or someone you know is being abused, LIVES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES and seeks placement in a domestic violence Safe Haven (or you seek other domestic violence intervention services) in order to escape domestic abuse, please visit this site’s compiled listing of International Domestic Violence Resources for assistance. You will find a list of domestic violence resources organized by continent/country, along with phone numbers and other contact information. The directory is a FREE service to all our visitors and it’s available to you 24 hours-a-day, 365 days a year!

There are many victims of abuse who decide to leave their violent relationships. New York City aids these victims by providing access to emergency domestic violence shelters. New York City also makes a special effort to provide subsidized permanent housing for eligible victims of domestic violence.
