Job Description:
     
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Family Safety, Security Officers will help maintain the strict confidentiality of the residence and its residents. Security Officers provide 24 hour security coverage to prevent theft and ensure the safety of both the facility, its staff and resident families.

The Security Officer position requires an individual whose time is flexible. Applicants should present the flexibility to work overtime and/or work in other assigned shift schedules as the need of the program necessitates.
      
Qualifications:
     
A High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of related work experience in a transitional-care setting. All Security Officers MUST pass a drug screening test, be fingerprinted and have no prior criminal history.

All Security Officers MUST present the following at the interview:

*NYS Security Guard License
*NYS Fire Safety Coordinator certificate

Experience working in a transitional homeless setting is highly preferred. Because Security Officers will interact with other staff members and facility residents, and are required to keep accurate daily log entries, excellent reading, writing and communication skills are a pre-requisite for these position.

Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
      
Additional Desireable Qualifications:
  

  
     
Hours:
     
35 hours per week. (Shift schedules will include: 4pm to 12 midnight and 12 midnight to 8am, as the need of the program dictates)
      
Salary:
     
$21,500 per annum.
